extinction with smile

Work evokes the impact environmental pollutions has on anima extinction. In the narrative series of photographs, anthropocentric behavior, human- centered activities on the ecosystem, slowly replaces an animal life, here embodied by the image of a fox. The emoji stands in for such behavior by taking up more and more space and making the fox disappear. Pollution threatens non--human animals, for example, through the ingestion of microplastics or by being trapped in the human-produced waste; pesticides and air pollution cause respiratory problems, cancer, heart diseases, brain damage and affects animals immune system the same  way as it does to humans. In fact, animals are even more vulnerable because their respiratory systems are much more sensitive. In addition. animals are at the risk from poor air quality because they cannot protect themselves against it as humans do. The emoji represents human behavior that leaves out such considerations, while epitomizing a culture of "happy ignorance" through a carefree smiley expression.
